"Centred"

Daily meditation Wednesday 11th of November 2009

"For those who wander away from the centre, from the Source, from the Lord, the situation becomes increasingly complicated, until it is inextricable. For as soon as they begin to veer off course, to stray from the light and transgress laws, claiming it makes them feel free and independent, all they are really doing is fettering themselves, even if they don’t see it at the time.
Let’s take an image. During the summer, the sun shone, the weather was hot and life was very simple. But now winter is approaching; we have to provide for heating and lay in supplies; we need more clothing, more lighting. And then there’s the fog, the snow and ice, communications aren’t as good, and there’s a greater risk of accidents. So, with less light and less heat, everything becomes more difficult. If you can take this very simple image deeper, it will help you understand how necessary it is to sustain your connection with the spiritual sun, the Lord."

Faith

Daily meditation Monday 9th of November 2009

"St. Paul defines faith as ‘the conviction of things not seen.’ And faith does give us access to an unknown, infinitely vast world, in which we can begin to breathe, nourish ourselves and become stronger. We gradually become aware of realms that were hitherto unknown to us, and then we know. That is why we should not set faith and knowledge in opposition to each other; they belong together: faith opens the way to new knowledge. You could say that faith is the infinite and that knowledge maps out a small territory within that infinite. Faith makes soundings in the infinite, explores it, connects us with it and allows us to enter ever deeper into it. And so our knowledge of the divine grows and increases, thanks to our faith.
Faith always precedes knowledge; it is faith that allows us to move forward. In order to know, we first have to believe, but when we know, we no longer need to believe; faith then carries us towards a new field of investigation. And so it is that faith little by little leads us to perfect knowledge."

Expression

Daily meditation 8th of November 2009

"Nature exhibits an amazing diversity of forms, but on the other hand we see a great similarity between individuals belonging to the same species. Take trees, for example… Oaks, poplars, fig trees – how different the shapes of their leaves are! Whereas, the leaves from the same tree are all alike. Look at fishes, too, and insects – how many different species and forms there are! But can you distinguish between one fly and another from the same species?
Now, if you compare the faces of several people who have a strong spiritual life, you will find a real difference and wealth of expression! But look at crude, primitive people who have no inner life; their expressions are identical. On the one hand you have simplification, and on the other, differentiation. The higher we rise, the more simplified and unified we become, but also the more expressive, vibrant, alive and subtle. And the further we descend into the lower realms, the more forms multiply, but the more individuals lose their expressiveness."

A Life worth Living

Daily meditation Saturday 7th of November 2009

"Why have we come to incarnate on earth? In order to know ourselves. For human beings do not know themselves as spirit, as a spark that flew from the bosom of the Creator. They know themselves in the divine world, above, but they also have to know themselves below, through matter, and they only succeed in this after many trials and tribulations. Have you seen a cat play with its tail? Not knowing this is what it is, it bites it and is surprised at what it feels. And, like the cat, one day you too come to discover the existence of the extremity of your being, there on the physical plane; you don’t know what it is, so you bite, and of course you cry out, because you realize the tail that’s trailing along is a part of you.
Human beings are not limited to what you see of them; they are entities that inhabit all realms of space, and they have to learn who they are. At present, they have to get to know themselves through matter, through their physical body, and that is what makes their life so difficult but also so worth living."
