"Learn to say thank you, and you will be saved. Yes, say thank you, even if you have no apparent reason to, even for unpleasant events, for this is the best way to transform them. If you start shouting and screaming, not only will you fail to change events, you will also aggravate your suffering. So, whatever troubles you face, say, ‘Oh Lord, thank you, there is certainly a reason this is happening to me, I must still have something to learn.’ You will then feel your difficulties are being transformed into gold, into precious stones, and you will see them in a totally different light. Try it and you’ll see, it’s a habit that will make it possible for you to overcome ordeals more easily, and little by little, you will become, inwardly at least, master of all situations."

WORD FOR THE DAY Wednesday, Jul. 8 |
|
|
|
To know that what is impen-
etrable to us really exists,
manifesting itself as the highest
wisdom and the most radiant
beauty, which our dull faculties
can comprehend only in their
primitive forms - this knowledge,
this feeling, is at the center of
true religion. |

"For most people, there is something disturbing and threatening about the word ‘magic’, and they want nothing to do with this practice. And yet everyone practises magic; yes, on an unconscious level they do nothing but that. According to the laws of divine justice, each negative thought and feeling is in itself black magic, for it sullies something, it tears it to pieces. And conversely, everything that is harmonious and constructive, everything that embellishes and illuminates, belongs to the category of white magic. So, instead of appearing horrified whenever magic is mentioned, humans would do better to try and understand the significance of the ways they express themselves. Yes, for, when seen in this way, many people who have never opened a book of black magic, who don’t even believe black magic exists, are actually, through their behaviour, their thoughts, feelings and words, veritable black magicians."

WORD FOR THE DAY Monday, Jul. 6 |
|
|
|
Faith is crumpling and
throwing away everything,
proposition by proposition,
until nothing is left, and then
writing a new proposition,
your very own, to throw in
the teeth of despair.

"Humans cannot be asked to suddenly abandon the physical, external forms of their religion in order to worship God ‘in spirit and truth’. The fulfilment of Jesus’ prophecy is approaching, and for some people it has already long been fulfilled. But we must understand that it’s impossible for such a change to take place overnight for the entire world. When it’s a matter of physical, material facts, everyone experiences them at the same time. For example, once an ecumenical council has decreed that the mass will no longer be said in Latin from such and such a date, in effect, from that date onwards all Catholics notice the change. But when Jesus says, ‘The hour is coming when the true worshippers will worship God in spirit and truth’, he is speaking of a phenomenon of the inner life that can only be fulfilled according to each person’s degree of evolution."

WORD FOR THE DAY Sunday, Jul. 5 |

|
The happy heart gives away
the best. To know how to
receive is also a most important
gift, which cultivates generosity
in others and keeps strong the
cycle of life. |
