The power of speech
Daily meditation Monday 2nd of November 2009
"The power of speech resides not only in our words but in the vibrations of our voice. In the ancient Mysteries, magic words were taught only to those disciples who were worthy of knowing them and able to utter them. According to one tradition, when a human being comes before the supreme Judges, they order him or her, ‘Speak’. He or she then moves forward and says, ‘Forms of eternity, here I am,’ and immediately they know what judgment to give. This may be merely an image used to make a point, but do take it seriously all the same. When it is your time to come before the Judges of souls, they will say, ‘Speak.’ And however eloquently you express yourself, however well chosen your words, that is not what the Judges will be paying attention to, because they know words can deceive. They will only listen to the timbre of your voice, to its vibrations. It is the sound of your voice that will tell them whether what you say is true or false; you will be judged according to how genuine your voice is."
