"Parents and teachers who are seriously concerned about young people’s futures must understand that providing them with training so they can become an electronics engineer, a chemist or a biologist is not enough; they must prepare them to face life in the best way possible. If adolescents are not told about the difficulties they are bound to encounter later in the outside world and, above all, in themselves, if they are not told how to view these difficulties or what the right attitude is for solving them, they will founder at the slightest setback.
Let’s take a very simple example. What will happen to someone who knows nothing of the changing seasons, who doesn’t know that one day winter and cold weather will come?... If, on the other hand, they are informed, they will have fuel, clothing and a food supply ready and will go through winter untroubled. Well, the majority of young people rush into life as if unaware that winter must come."
