    Sparks!!

Daily meditation Thursday 26th of November 2009

"An astrological chart merely gives a few clues about people’s destiny; so, even if it presents many negative aspects, these should not be seen as absolutely predestined. The truth is, the human spirit is above the stars and planets, beyond their influence; the spirit is free, all-powerful. Whatever configurations the stars may have drawn for you, beyond the region where destiny is master your spirit reigns, and destiny can do nothing against it.
Your only way of escaping destiny is therefore to place yourself in the service of the spirit. Do not give the excuse that you were ‘born under a bad star’ so you can remain forever weak, lazy and idle. Granted, you have karmic debts to pay, but those debts only represent a second in eternity. You should not allow a single moment now to dim the light of the spirit. Whatever happens, you must remain convinced there is a spark shining within you that nothing and no one can snuff out or even obscure."

    Limitations.......................or not

    WORD FOR THE DAY
    Wednesday, Nov. 25
    Outwardly one's life may suffer
every kind of limitation, from bodily
    paralysis to miserable surroundings,
but inwardly it is free in meditation
to reach out to a sphere of light,

    Enhancement

Daily meditation Wednesday 25th of November 2009

"All the efforts you make to enhance your physical and material life will not make you much happier if you do not first try to get to know and accept the truths that will improve your inner life. Whatever you achieve on the outside, you will never be fulfilled, for fulfilment is only found through personal effort: an effort of will, of thought and of the imagination.
Besides, you know this – you’ve experienced it so many times! You find satisfaction in everything you yourself manage to accomplish, whereas everything you have received without doing anything – even money – doesn’t give you the same joy. Yes, people know this, but they still continue to expect joy to come from outside. That’s why, in spite of all they possess, they still feel poor, dissatisfied and empty. Therefore, no matter what you possess or what is given to you, never forsake inner work. Right till the end, don’t give up on it!"

    Deprivation

    WORD FOR THE DAY
    Tuesday, Nov. 24
There is only one real deprivation,
I decided this morning, and that
is not to be able to give one's
gifts to those one loves most.

    Nourishing love

Daily meditation Tuesday 24th of November 2009

"Do not be in a hurry to declare your love to someone. It is your love that makes you happy and provides an impetus, a meaning to your life; but since the one you love is not yet a perfect being, if they know your feelings they can easily spoil everything without meaning to. They’ll say to themselves, ‘There’s an open door, let’s take advantage of it.’ It’s only natural. Then when you feel you haven’t been understood, you will suffer, you’ll be disappointed, and then what will be left of your love?
You must understand, it’s the love that is important, more important than the person you love, so don’t go sacrificing it for the sake of someone who may well destroy it if you make the mistake of revealing it to them. You will be able to talk about it when you are both well prepared and very strong. But until then, don’t say anything, just keep loving; it’s your love that nourishes you, that gives you zest, the taste for life, the desire to overcome all obstacles. So, do not lose it."

    Prevention v cure

Daily meditation  Monday 23rd of November 2009

"How many philosophers, doctors, psychiatrists and students of the human psyche will acknowledge the influence of helpful or harmful entities, which come either to assist and support human beings or else to torment and destroy them?... Very few. For the great majority, it’s a matter of chemical elements either disturbing or restoring the correct functioning of the mind.
True, the effect of chemical elements on the mind cannot be denied, but these elements are produced by the presence of the helpful or harmful entities that human beings draw to themselves. If, due to their weaknesses and lack of understanding, human beings open the door to dark entities, these will enter them and bring about disturbances in their psychic fabric. Doctors and psychiatrists may give these disorders all kinds of names and treat them with chemical substances – that’s another matter. Actually, the sole origin of such disorders is those undesirables that human beings have attracted to themselves by their flawed way of life."

    The Garden of life

    WORD FOR THE DAY
    Monday, Nov. 23
We plant seeds that will flower
as results in our lives, so best to
    remove the weeds of anger,
    avarice, envy and doubt, that
    peace and abundance may
    manifest for all.

    Life's illusions

Daily meditation  22nd of November 2009

"You are bound to meet with difficulties and obstacles. But if you take them too seriously, you will land yourself in inextricable situations, simply because these difficulties and obstacles can only be overcome if you begin by making light of how serious they are.
Believe me, your true Self actually remains unaffected by your tribulations. Your true Self is above all of life’s vicissitudes. So, whatever trials you have to face, you can tell yourself, ‘Of course, these events are real; I can’t deny such and such a failure, disappointment or accident… But is it really me it’s happening to? No, I am an eternal, immortal spirit, and all this inconvenience is happening to someone else; this is just an illusion, and I’m its spectator.’"

    Gratitude

    Health

Daily meditation Thursday 19th of November 2009

"If you can strengthen your body’s defences, it will be so well armed that the enemy, illness, confronted with such resistance, will turn in its tracks. The proof is, during epidemics there are people who go about safely among the sick without ever catching anything, whereas others, who take all kinds of precautions, are carried off by the disease. Why? Because the first people’s constitution was such that it didn’t allow germs to take hold. When the fortress is well protected, the enemy remains powerless.
That is why it is so important that, rather than concentrating on illness, we begin by studying health – the laws that guarantee continuing good health and the factors contributing to it (breathing, nutrition, behaviour) – and that these laws be taught to everyone. True medicine begins here."

    Castels in the air

    WORD FOR THE DAY
    Thursday, Nov. 19
If you have built castles in
the air your work need not
be lost. That is where they
    should be. Now put the
    foundations under them.

    Spirituality

Daily meditation Wednesday 18th of November 2009

"Being a spiritual person does not consist in carrying out so-called spiritual activities, such as meditation, prayer or study. What characterizes spiritual people is the goal they set for their activities, and this goal has to be the realization of an idea, of a higher ideal. However, when one sees the reasons why more and more people are devoting themselves to spiritual practices – to control others, to seduce them, to achieve success, wealth or glory – there is cause for sadness and indignation.
What matters is the goal. Thus any everyday activity can be made spiritual if you know how to use your thoughts to bring an element of the divine into it. To be a spiritual person is not to despise matter but to work with the light and for the light, to learn how to use any kind of work to attune oneself to the divine world and connect with the Creator."

    Living by our words

    WORD FOR THE DAY
    Saturday, Nov. 14
    As we express our gratitude,
we must never forget that the
    highest appreciation is not to
utter words, but to live by them.

    Let it Be..............

Daily meditation 15th of November 2009

"Do you sincerely wish to help others to better themselves? Avoid criticizing them or moralizing, and start by bettering yourself. Merely by your example you can show them they are making a mistake or behaving badly. Yes, by your example. Because, when you work on yourself, you are working on others: they notice qualities in you that are lacking in them, and that makes them progress, as they understand the advantages for them in doing as you do. Those who concern themselves with the weaknesses and vices of others become dull and disagreeable, as if the faults they talk about finally rub off on them; it’s awful, you feel sorry for them.
So start by making changes for the better in yourself, and let other people be. Accept them as they are, be patient, work relentlessly, day and night, to show them just what can be achieved through sincere endeavour. If they don’t yet know, they won’t learn it from your words, but they will from your example."

    Oneness

Daily meditation Saturday 14th of November 2009

"Human beings aspire to oneness, but clearly they don’t succeed in achieving it. Why? Because they don’t know they should be looking for it in the spirit, nowhere else. Outside of the spirit, multiplicity reigns. The hostility and possessiveness human beings experience, and every tendency they have to feel like an outsider, different from others, come from having strayed from that state of perfection in which all spirits are one, identified with the divine Spirit. In oneness, there is never the slightest manifestation of hostility.
There are beings who have experienced the sense of oneness to such a degree, they feel they are in tune with all creatures; there is no longer any separation; every soul, every spirit, is in tune with every other, and they experience what happens to others as if it were happening to themselves. And this is precisely the aim of initiatic Science: to lead all beings back to this awareness of oneness."

    Impossible..................

    Do it with Love

Daily meditation Friday 13th of November 2009

"Feeling tired depends very much on one’s inner state. Work for hours on end with love, and you won’t feel tired at all, but work for only a few minutes when you’re feeling discontented, or angry, or rebellious, everything in you will seize up, and you’ll feel exhausted.
You need to realize just how effective and powerful love is. Everything you do, endeavour to do with love, or don’t do it at all. What you do without love wears you out and undermines you, so don’t then be surprised if you lose heart. When you work without love, it’s like taking in poison. You may say there are tasks you don’t enjoy but which you are still obliged to do out of duty. Granted, you have to do them, but find at least one reason for doing them with love. It’s entirely up to you."
